Our Story
In early 1989 a group of twelve adults met in a living room in Natrona Heights to seek God’s will for a new work in the community. During that summer Christ Community was born, and a pastor was called as the new church began to form. Over the next year, contact was made and plans completed for an affiliation with the Evangelical Free Church of America. The group grew, meeting in homes was no longer feasible, and the church found a new home at the Allegheny Valley YMCA. Office space was added at the Highlands Mall in Natrona Heights.
Through the years, God continued to build His church in both people and in resources. In March of 2000 Christ Community purchased a thirteen-acre piece of land on Singleton Road in Sarver. In January of 2001 the land was paid for. A pavilion was added in May of 2002, and a variety of improvements to the grounds allowed for the increased use of the property. The utilization continues to grow with a variety of fellowship, worship, and ministry activities taking place at the Singleton Road location.
A Fresh Stirring and Renewal
In a series of prayer and conversation gatherings in the fall of 2002, the CCF family was stirred to seek God for personal renewal and ministry renewal. This spiritual renewal has brought us to a crucial point in the history of our mission for Christ.
As we line up the markers of years of God’s grace, we see a future of ministry development that takes sharp definition. We desire to be a grace-filled community of believers that seeks a personal, ministering connection with those around us. We aim to involve ourselves in the lives of friends so as to encourage and help in the things that count most. We want to be used by the Lord to bring a life-changing impact for Jesus Christ to the people and families God brings our way.
